CMP Magazine 2014 Canadian Mortgage Awards Finalist Badge

Every year the Canadian Mortgage Professional Magazine and the Mortgage Broker News puts on the Canadian Mortgage Awards to recognize the best of the best in the mortgage industry in Canada. From lenders to insurers, brokers to industry partners, companies to individual awards, the Canadian Mortgage Awards does an amazing job identifying those who stand out in the broker channel. You can find the full list of categories and finalists for 2014 here. Having been at the 2013 Canadian Mortgage Awards, I can tell you first hand they throw one swanky party (I even wore a tie).

First Foundation is pumped to have been selected as a finalist for 3 awards this year, while Gord and I are excited to be recognized as finalists for our involvement with the Canadian Mortgage Hangout #cmhTV.

Jenn Huynh | Best Newcomer

Jenn Huynh Profile PicWe are very happy to see Jennifer Huynh as a finalist for the award for the best newcomer, individual agent or broker. Jenn consistently receives reviews and testimonials from her clients that talk about her amazing customer service and attention to detail. The fact that her colleagues and other industry professionals see the same thing and were willing to nominate her for this award says a lot!

Gord McCallum | Mortgage Broker Of The Year < 25 Employees

Gord McCallum Profile Pic It seems Gord can't stay out of the lime light, being the founder and president, it's Gord's name on the bill any time First Foundation receives an award or nomination... and that seems to be quite often. First Foundation has been nominated for a national award every year since 2006 and has brought home some nice hardware in that time (including 2011 AMP of the Year). Being a finalist for the Street Capital Financial Corp. Award for the Mortgage Broker of the Year, Fewer than 25 Employees is another feather in Gord's cap, if indeed he ever chooses to wear a cap.

First Foundation | Best Branding

I have to be honest, this is the company award that I really want to bring home May 9th at the Awards Show in Toronto. At First Foundation we spend a lot of time making sure we communicate effectively with our clients. Having a clean looking brand is a huge part of that. In 2013 we undertook a complete re-brand by changing our logo, overhauling the website, introducing our insurance and financial services divisions and launching the #OwnGrowProtect Blog. To be recognized as a finalist among some of the industry's long standing brands is pretty sweet!

Canadian Mortgage Hangout | Best Internet Presence

In 2012 Gord McCallum, Scott Dawson, Rob Campbell and I started a Google+ Hangout called the Canadian Mortgage Hangout dot TV as a way to talk about the mortgage broker industry. We opened up the conversation to twitter using the hashtag #cmhTV and started bringing on guests. It just kinda grew from there. Our viewership and social interaction has continued to grow along with the profile of our guests. Being chosen as a finalist for the Marlborough Sterling Award for Best Internet Presence means that we get to broadcast live from the 2014 Canadian Mortgage Awards show which is gonna be a lot of fun!

We are looking forward to attending the 2014 Canadian Mortgage Awards live in Toronto at the Liberty Grand Hotel, May 9th 2014.
