Regina’s Stadium Project Moves Forward [Storify]

By

The RRI (or Regina Revitalization Initiative) has caused considerable debate among Regina residents in the last year. The primary controversy of this project surrounds the construction of a new stadium on Evraz Place which would replace the current Mosaic Stadium. Love it or hate it, the stadium project ball is steadily moving up-field (if you’ll excuse the punny analogy), and Regina City Council’s Executive Committee held a special meeting this Wednesday to discuss a number of updates to the project. These included the approval of an evaluation criteria for design and construction contract bids, a new stadium lease agreement with Sask Sport, and the creation of a “stadium reserve” fund for project funding.

Here are some of the highlights from the meeting.
