Last week I was asked to be the closing keynote speaker at the Mortgage Summit 2013 in Toronto. The subject of my presentation?
New thinking! - Are there different and better ways of doing business? The focus of this interactive and informative session will be twofold; firstly the session will discuss examples of new products and services in the mortgage market and what benefit these will have for customers. The second element will consider whether there are new and different ways for lenders to operate; in communication with customers, with third parties and more widely in the market.
Ok, so I didn't follow the outline of the presentation to the "T", but it was close enough. Unfortunately there are no audio or video recordings of my presentation (note to self, fix that next time) but there was some demand for a copy of the presentation, so here is my powerpoint. I admit I'm not a great powerpoint guy (no time for the details) but this gets the general message across.
My intention was to raise a few eyebrows and get people thinking differently about this industry we all love because I think that, as our clients' needs evolve, we have to continue to adapt and evolve to serve them. As Guy Kawasaki says in his excellent book "Enchantment':
"Want to change the world? Change caterpillars into butterflies? This takes more than run-of-the-mill relationships. You need to convince people to dream the same dream that you do."
