Because Money Episode 8 Summary

Are young Canadians saving enough for retirement, are Canadians actually saving anything for retirement? I guess it depends on who you ask. If you ask a financial planner, of course they will tell you that all their clients are saving. So how do you know which stats you can trust? In a small twitter poll conducted while the episode was airing, the common thought was there is no use saving money while you are trying to pay off debt. Which in itself speaks to where people are at financially.

Is Borrowing Money in Canada a Right?

We spent the first part of the show discussing a news piece on CBC where a couple took out a car loan for 25% from TD and are now heartbroken they can't get financial relief. I have my thoughts about this and articulated them in no uncertain terms on the show.

What do you think? Should Canadians be responsible for their own financial decisions or do we need more regulation for high interest loan practices?
