A Day in the Life of a Mortgage Broker

By

As mortgage brokers, we have a pretty special job – we get to make dreams happen. It’s sounds kind of Disney an’all but that’s exactly what we do. Clients come to us to seek financing for a property that will llikely become their biggest financial asset, their sanctuary from the world and their shelter. So how do we do that, exactly?

We start with a great team – people that we look forward to seeing in the morning and who we trust and can rely on. After a lively chat and a round of fine Tassimo beverages we’re off to the the races. Our clients may have called us or completed our online application overnight so various members of our team get right to assigning these clients to a licenced associate and contacting them as soon as possible to answer questions and get the ball rolling. We do our best to contact our new clients within one business day – we know you’re anxious – most of us have been there, too!

From there, our day is then filled with reviewing applications and mortgage documents, liaising with lender representatives, lawyers, appraisers, insurance companies and Realtors and best of all, meeting with our clients in person to discuss their dreams and goals for their future.

Purchasing a home requires an entire team of professionals and as mortgage brokers, we are in touch with all of them. This can be challenging sometimes but we are good trouble shooters by nature and we’ve fined tuned our systems over the years to make it as low stress as possible for ourselves and our clients. We also have the benefits of a team environment, and we rely on each other every day to create the First Foundation edge.

The very best part of a First Foundation Licenced Mortgage Broker’s job has got to be when we tell a client that they have been approved for their mortgage and can complete the purchase of their home. What a feeling – it’s a privilage to be such an integeral part of our client’s homebuying experience and we know it! To that end, it’s safe to say that the next best part of the job is saying “thank you” and letting our clients know that we will always be there for them, even after the mortgage has closed.

Pretty amazing stuff but it’s all in a day’s work around here!
