Golf for a Cause!
What an event! For those who don't already know, the Liberty Classic is an event put on by Liberty Security in support of Parkinson Alberta and the Peterson Foundation for Parkinson's.
The Peterson Foundation For Parkinson’s (PFP) mission is to educate and raise awareness of the devastating effects of Parkinson’s Disease. PFP raises funds to benefit Parkinson’s related research and education.
First Foundation was one of many sponsors that really made the Liberty Classic a first-class event, and over $35,000 was raised to support a great cause. Our sponsored holes included a chance to win a gorgeous Ford F150 or a Supra Wake Boat from Martin Motor Sports valued at over $80,000! One golfer came very close to winning the truck, which was donated by City Ford.
Many of Alberta's finest were in attendance, including the newest Edmonton Oiler, Andrew Ference, who golfed in a foursome with Mr. Brent Peterson, a coach of the Nashville Predators and the namesake of the event and charitable foundation.
Parkinson's disease is a brain disorder that occurs when certain nerve cells in a part of the brain become impaired.
