Do I Need ATV Insurance?
ATV Insurance is required by law for anyone who is using an ATV outside of their own property. Driving an ATV without insurance is risky for two reasons: first, you could be ticketed if you are found driving without insurance, and second, if you’re involved in an accident without insurance, you would have no protection against a personal liability lawsuit. While driving an ATV is extremely fun, it’s also dangerous. Make sure you know the risks and you have proper insurance before you head out. Even if you’re an experienced driver, events beyond your control such as weather conditions or other drivers can cause accidents.
How Much Is ATV Insurance?
ATV insurance must include a minimum amount of third-party liability insurance, as well as a minimum amount of accident benefits. This amount will be dependent on a variety of factors such as the type of ATV you are insuring and your insurance history. Many people choose to purchase more insurance than what is legally required. This is a good idea if you want to ensure that your vehicle is protected in a variety of situations. For example, additional coverage could include provisions that cover against theft and vandalism. You can even purchase coverage that will reimburse you for damage to your ATV caused by flood, fire, or other natural disasters.
