Salisbury Farmers Market & Greenhouse

So here is how I spent some of my day yesterday! It’s Thursday and my daughter has been asking for perogies for a long time now. Not sure why he light bulb went off in my head but I am glad it did. We have a little Farmers Market here in town, right at our finger tips and I bet they have home made perogies. So off to the market we went.

Salisbury Farmers Market

The Salisbury Famers Market operates year-round every Thursday from 4:30 to 8:00pm and located at Salisbury Greenhouse, 1 mile south of Wye Road on Range Road 232 in Sherwood Park. During the winter, they operate indoors and now that the snow if off the ground and it’s getting warmer, you can find the array of vendors outside in the parking lot of the greenhouse.

I love shopping local Farmers Markets because it is a way I can support local small businesses.

The Salisbury Market offers tons of fresh produce, a variety of baked goods and foods, local crafts and more. However, we are not limited to Sherwood Park, there are also a number of Farmers Markets in Edmonton and surrounding area available to us and that we should frequent on a regular basis (I hope to share my experiences in upcoming blog posts).

We ended up not only getting the perogies for tonight’s dinner, we picked up some cabbage rolls, sausages at Irvings Farm Fresh @IrvingsFarm; Cotton candy; cupcakes; green onion cakes; tzatziki dip and a few other things.
